To maintain our position as the leading innovator in our sector Niche Products has an impressive R&D resource at our purpose laboratory facility in Manchester. A bespoke team of scientists with over 30 years collective experience in the formulation of Offshore hydraulic fluids are constantly working on new developments whilst keeping abreast of the latest Environmental directives.
Hundreds of manhours every month are dedicated to product testing in the 3 key areas of Performance, Compatibility and Environmental Compliance.
In addition to chemical testing a separate team of engineers and technicians put the products through stringent physical testing regimes designed and qualified in partnership with industry OEM’s.

Health & Safety
Using the guidelines of the HSE for our industry, the Board at Niche products has implemented a robust H&S policy. Policies and procedures are agreed and implemented via Quarterly team meetings to ensure the safety of our staff, contractors and customers in all of our activities.
Quality
All activities on site Development, Production and Supply are covered by our ISO 9001 – 2008 accreditation. Our ongoing compliance to our Policy Statement is reviewed at quarterly meetings and via our annual customer satisfaction survey.
Environmental
Awareness of environmental compliance is part of our Company Culture and is understood by all our staff. Our accreditation to ISO 14001 will be confirmed during 2012.
REACh
Niche Products Ltd fully supports the objectives of REACh to reduce the harmful effects that chemicals can have on people and the environment. We continually monitor the potential impact of REACh on our current business and future developments by liaising with suppliers and customers.
Production & Distribution
The Manchester HQ is also the base the global production unit which has a 1 shift capacity of 15 Mio. litres of fluids p.a.. It is highly automated using the latest load cell technology giving accuracy and repeatability.
Where possible, raw materials are bought in bulk to optimise purchasing and help give customers price stability. The quality control team check all raw materials entering site before they are available for production.
The incoming water is purified via a demineralisation plant before being passed through an ultra violet unit that kills any bacteria that may be present.
The products are blended in stainless steel vessels before QC testing. After extensive laboratory checks the product is passed and ready to be filled.
We only use brand new containers to minimise contamination - but even that is only half the story when it comes to cleanliness. After filling, each IBC is checked for cleanliness and the contents are recirculated through a filter until NAS Class 6 is achieved. The same happens to bulk deliveries and bulk supplies held at external depots.
Niche Products Ltd operate a substantial product research and development centre and manufacturing facility from our Head Office in Manchester UK. From our Manchester facility we can coordinate the supply of any fluid within our range to anywhere in the globe, dispatch subsea engineers, analyse product samples and conduct all product research to the highest standards.
